AfroShops 🛒🧺 - Tech Stack

Bringing an idea to life is never a straight path. Unexpected challenges and tough decisions are always part of the journey. 15 weeks later than planned, the first version of AfroShops is officially online! Some key functionalities had to be postponed, because launching a working prototype was the priority.

💡 What is under the hood?

Make or buy? Instead of starting from scratch, we decided to leverage existing tools and technologies that would allow us to build a robust platform.
🔹 MySQL – A reliable database to store and retrieve data efficiently.
🔹 PHP, WordPress & WooCommerce – The backbone of AfroShops, providing a solid CMS and eCommerce foundation.
🔹 NodeJS & TypeScript – Supporting key backend processes for performance optimisation.
🔹 CSS & Bootstrap – Delivering a sleek and responsive design.
🔹 Git – Managing version control, synchronisation, and automated deployment.
🔹 Discord – Our go-to for communication and project management.
🔹 BookStack – Centralised documentation to keep everything organised.
By leveraging this stack, we built a prototype that can evolve with future enhancements.
